Challenge
Gilead Sciences is a biopharmaceutical leader in the research and development of antiviral drugs used in the treatment of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, influenza, and now COVID-19. But recruiting processes had not kept up with its fast rate of growth, and they feared they may be losing out on key talent.
The company wanted to redesign its end-to-end recruitment process and enhance the candidate experience. They also sought to redesign the process for offering growth opportunities to existing staff as part of the overall Employee Experience (EX) in order to remain and grow as an employer of choice in a highly competitive market.
Approach
The reshift team designed a customized Employee Experience (EX) Bootcamp to help Gilead's global Talent Acquisition Team take a human-centered approach to rethinking its hiring, onboarding, and promotion processes.
We facilitated a three-day EX co-creation workshop with 24 participants from 5 different countries, representing Talent Acquisition leaders, managers, and newly hired employees.
Outcome
Teams across five countries learned how to apply innovation processes to develop new service concepts for potential and existing employees alike. They also came alongside the global Talent Acquisition team to plan and build a roadmap for the following year.
Prototypes built by the teams were used to transform how Gilead
re-engineered its talent recruitment and retention processes for sustained growth.
